how are you feeling today?

Here we are on day two. Making a comeback into resistance training is always a challenge. The immediate effects of it are very telling. When you finish a set and your legs feel like jelly, you know that you are going to feel it the next day and more so, the day after that. Today there is soreness in the legs and a feeling of heaviness on the run this morning. But as I always say, you never regret going. Never have I said after a session, “I wish I hadn’t done that”. It might be hard to get out the door, but once you are out, you have already accomplished something.

On the to-do list in this challenge is two sessions a day. These sessions don’t necessarily need to be high intensity and planning ahead for the week is advised. I completed a run and a resistance session yesterday, and today will be the same. However, tomorrow will be a morning run and an afternoon stretch/yoga session with a sauna and ice bath.

building blocks

Rebuilding strength is something I am familiar with unfortunately. With our travel schedule, there is  always an opportunity for running but finding equipment for resistance training is challenging. Before too long, the strength you had starts to dwindle and you are back to square one. More planning is needed so that  a “start all over again” is not required every  three months.
